Beyond Religion Poetry Contest winners Selam Weimer, Molly H. Rufus, and Beatrix Stone. United States, 2019.

We are thrilled to present the winners of the Beyond Religion Poetry Contest. These three distinguished poets dedicated their time and talents to writing in response to Pulitzer Center reporting that intersects with religion. Each poet took for their inspiration a photograph. They considered how an image can tell a story, and the many different ways in which it can be interpreted. These poems demonstrate empathy, global engagement, and a strong command of the power of language.
