Pulitzer Gateway: "potentially game changing..."

The Pulitzer Center was in Atlanta last week for the National Council for the Social Studies (NCSS) Annual Conference, with more than 3,000 educators who had gathered to share the latest research and ideas in social studies education and to acknowledge the role of social studies in shaping students' global awareness.

Gallagher's Presentation at Kent State Featured on KentNewsNet.com

Sean Gallagher visited classes and spoke at Kent State University in Akron, Ohio, on Oct. 26. He discussed his experience in international multimedia journalism, including his climate change project, Desertification in China.KentNewsNet.com covered Sean's speaking event and quoted Barbara Hipsman, associate professor for the School of Journalism and Mass Communication, as saying, "We wanted him to focus on passion and how you can go anywhere and do what you want to do. And that's exactly what he did."

Pulitzer Center Launches St. Louis Spring 2009 program

Pulitzer Center's Janeen Heath and Alex Amend introduce the Spring 2009 Global Gateway program in St. Louis, which focuses on Womenand Children in Crisis. This program includes visits with the journalists in the classroom, student blogging and video uploads on the Women and Children in Crisis web portal, as well as an essay contest with cash and leadership awards. The web portal surveys reporting projects from Nepal, Iraq, Liberia, and the Democratic Republic of Congo. This video is directed to participating students and teachers in St.

A Collinsville High School class on Monday got a look into the world that few students ever learn about.

Reporters from the Pulitzer Center for Crisis Reporting and staff from Civitas Associates attended one of Barbara Lindauer's world history classes to show news stories they had reported on from around the world.
