Grantees Make the Shortlist for One World Media Awards

One World Media—a non-profit organization that supports international journalism and promotes media coverage of global issues—released its 2017 list of journalism award nominees, with Pulitzer Center grantees making the cut. Among the projects nominated for One World Media awards are "The Great Land Rush" by the Financial Times team for digital media and "Congo's Secret Web of Power" by Michael Kavanagh for Bloomberg News.

Grantees who were shortlisted by One World Media before the nomination round include:

Ty McCormick was on the shortlist for international journalist of the eyar for his reporting for Foreign Policy.  

Two Pulitzer Center fellows were shortlisted in the student category: Kent State University's Daniel Socha for "What Makes the Kids of Congo Run?" and Jennifer Stephens of The George Washington University School of Public Health for "The Forgotten Generation: Young People Born with HIV in Malawi." 

Kenyan Corruption - The PBS Newshour team Nick Schifrin and Zach Fannin was shortlisted for corruption reporting for their broadcast series surrounding Kenyan corruption

Previous grantees Jacob Kushner and Jake Naughton were shortlisted this year for print reporting for their story, "On the Run," for VICE Magazine
