Open Culture features Pulitzer Center as "sign of intelligent life at YouTube"

Open Culture, a blog that explores cultural and educational media, recently featured the Pulitzer Center as number seven on its list of 10 "intellectually redeemable" video channels on YouTube. YouTube channels such as BBC Worldwide, UC Berkeley and The Nobel Prize also made Open Culture's list.

Dan Colman, the lead editor of Open Culture and the Director & Associate Dean of Stanford's Continuing Studies Program, posted on Jan. 30:

American Journalism Review features Pulitzer Center

Carol Guensburg published a large report on nonprofit journalism in the December/January 2008 issue of American Journalism Review. In one of the take-out sections, she featured the Pulitzer Center:

Iraq: Death of a Nation? DC, 12/9

David Enders and Rick Rowley spent a month and a half this summer criss-crossing Iraq, embedded with the different militias that now control the country. They will be screening video from the refugee camps on the outskirts of Baghdad, Central Iraq with America's new Sunni militia allies, Basra with the embattled Governor and his Islamic Virtue Party militia, Najaf with the US-allied Badr militia, and Sadr City with the Mahdi Army.

Pulitzer Center presents at international journalism conference

Pulitzer Center Associate Director Nathalie Applewhite presented at "Digital Media: New Ways to Do Journalism," the third annual International Conference of Journalists in Guadalajara, Mexico November 30 to December 2, 2007. The conference was a joint effort between the International Center for Journalists (ICFJ) and the University of Guadalajara, Mexico.

OneWorld.net highlights Jason Motlagh's India project

OneWorld highlighted the Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting India project on September 27, 2007 in the Today's Newssection of its website. The mention reads, "Freelance journalist Jason Motlagh unearths the India beyond Bollywood and the info-tech boom. Keep up with his blogs and photo reports on the country's rural poor, who are dealing with flooding and a four-decade-long guerrilla insurgency."

OneWorld highlighted the Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting Global Gateway initiative on September 20, 2007 in the Today's News section of its website. The mention reads, "U.S. middle school, high school, and university students are getting to interact with journalists covering underreported issues around the world."

The Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting seeks an intern for the spring semester, preferably starting January 3, 2008. We are especially interested in web-savvy applicants eager to get the word out about our international reporting projects. The internship pays $1,000 per month.
