A key feature of the Pulitzer Center's upcoming web portal on climate change is Daniel Grossman's reporting from Bangladesh on how rising sea levels threaten this South Asian country.

Yesterday Grossman had a piece run on PRI's The World, looking at the ways in which Bangladesh is experimenting with protecting itself. Among the experiments -- using floods to prevent floods.

Jon Sawyer featured in FRONTLINE/World Media Symposium

These learning modules are designed to provide both professional and citizen journalists with step-by-step instruction on skills to help you launch or improve a web site based on user-generated content. This learning module is filled with text and videos that will guide journalists from story idea, through the reporting and distribution process. This approach treats the issues covered as campaigns, not just stand-alone stories. That means wide collaborations, embracing new technologies and taking the journalism out to classrooms and universities to engage the next generation.

An experimental Pentagon program embeds civilian anthropologists and social scientists with combat teams in Iraq and Afghanistan to help soldiers understand the local culture, known in military-speak as "human terrain."

The 2009 World Affairs Fellows have been selected, and Philip Brasher has been named the 2009 Pulitzer Center World Affairs Journalism Fellow (WAJF). Poet Kwame Dawes provided the words for HOPE & Wisteria, two back-to-back performance pieces that explore different aspects of the black experience. But his contribution, vital as it is, is only one part of the puzzle. Each production is a multimedia piece using music, images and Dawes' poetry.
