(Subscribers can log in to read "Picturing Non-Profit Journalism.") Nathalie Applewhite, the managing director of The Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting, which was founded in 2006, spoke to us for the article in March. The Pulitzer Center was the subject of controversy in April when a writer/photographer who received funding from the Center for a story on child sacrifice in Uganda was accused of paying a source for photos.
