Three Pulitzer Center projects have been nominated for the 2018 Ellie Awards.
"Finding Home" was nominated for the "Digital Innovation" category, which honors the outstanding use of digital media by magazine websites and digital-only magazines. Reported by Lynsey Addario, Aryn Baker, and Francesca Trianni and originally published in TIME Magazine, the project follows a year in the life of four Syrian refugee families living in Europe.
"Germany: The Useful Village" was nominated for "Feature Writing" category, which honors original, stylish storytelling. Reported by Ben Mauk and George Butler and originally published in VQR, the story focuses on a small, rural town in Germany being used as a sanctuary for nearly 800 refugees.
"The Risk of Nuclear War with North Korea" was nominated for "Reporting" category, which reporting excellence as exemplified by one article or a series of articles. Written by Evan Osnos and photographed by Max Pinckers, this New Yorker story takes a rare look at North Korea's political elite as tensions rise with the Trump administration.
