Dear Educators —
When I was in college, a couple of earnest Scottish twins called the Proclaimers had an unlikely hit with their song, "I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles)." Maybe you remember its catchy chorus:
"I would walk 500 miles
And I would walk 500 more
Just to be the man who walked
A thousand miles
To fall down at your door."
So here we are, a couple of months and hundreds of miles into National Geographic Fellow Paul Salopek's 7-year Out of Eden walk. Paul has already shared some great stories from the trail, and now he's ready to sit down with you and your students for a virtual campfire chat.
Use the Twitter hashtag #EdenWalkChat this Thursday, March 28 at 1 pm ET to ask questions of Paul, and to hear from other learners around the world.
You can follow along on the Out of Eden page as well.
Some questions your students might consider at this point in the walk: What sparked our ancestors’ original migration? What is it like to report a story that spans seven years and 22,000 miles?
Enjoy the conversation!
