Meet the Journalist: Cassandra Vinograd – South Sudan

Pulitzer Center grantee Cassandra Vinograd traveled to South Sudan to put a human face on the deepening crisis in the world's newest nation. A civil war—now in its fourth year—has killed thousands and forced hundreds of thousands of people from their homes. Ethnic cleansing, mass rape, and starvation have been used as weapons of war. In this "Meet the Journalist" video, Vinograd discusses why she went to South Sudan—and the challenges of reporting there.
