Elisabeth Zerofsky talks about her work in Sarajevo, focusing on the Nasa Stranka political party.

Nasa Stranka, meaning "our party," is a political party made up of scholars, writers, artists and filmmakers. It was created in 2008, at a time when it was clear that the country was not able to easily recover from the recent war. Political parties were based on ethnic lines. By making both of the warring parties members of the government, the Dayton Agreement stopped the violence—and yet the political conflict continued.

Nasa Stranka is admittedly a small party, but it is the first step in creating a Bosnian government that can once again function properly.
