Meet the Journalist: Timothy McLaughlin

Timothy McLaughlin spent three weeks reporting from Yangon. His stories for The Washington Post and The New Yorker focus on the challenges in rebuilding Rakhine State following military operations last year that drove nearly 700,000 Rohingya Muslims into neighboring Bangladesh. McLaughlin also covers the proposed legislation to limit the work of NGOs and the United Nations, and he takes a look at the court case of his former colleague Wa Lone, a journalist for Reuters, who has been detained along with Kyaw Soe Oo for their reporting on a massacre of Rohingya Muslims.
