Chicago's week-long Reeling LGBT International Film Festival screens "The Abominable Crime" on Saturday, November 9. Reeling, the second-oldest LGBT film festival in the world, showcases not only diversity within the queer community but also diversity in the range of possibilities within film itself.
Director Micah Fink's film gives voice to gay Jamaicans who are forced to flee their homeland in the face of endemic anti-gay violence. The Human Rights Campaign is the community co-presenter. The Chicago festival is the latest in a line of screenings for "The Abominable Crime" in the United States and abroad.
