American University Human Rights Conference

American University hosts a two-day conference to address the Obama administration’s election promises for a renewed focus on human rights.

The conference will include human rights figures, government officials, civil society leaders, and academics who will discuss the degree to which the administration has fulfilled these promises while offering objective policy suggestions for the future.

Pulitzer Center Executive Director Jon Sawyer and Development and Outreach Director Ann Peters will take part in a discussion on Thursday from 11:15- 12:45 at American University’s Washington College of Law. Both will speak on the Pulitzer Center’s model and the use of the media as a tool of citizen engagement. This event is free and open to the public.
