From Greening the Biege:
"China's Growing Sands" (2009) and "China's Threatened Waters" (2010) feature signature works by award-winning photojournalist, Sean Gallagher (UK). Each piece focuses on critical issues such as desertification and the dramatic loss of wetlands, while gently depicting the human impact of such environmental issues.
Greening the Beige and Red Gate Gallery cordially invite you to a private presentation by Mr. Gallagher featuring his multi-media works made possible by the Pulitzer Center for Crisis Reporting. Following his introduction, we will host an auction of select pieces from both "China's Growing Sands" and "China's Threatened Waters".
All sales from this auction will help reimburse production costs for "China's Threatened Waters" – Nov 22 through Dec 12 – at Club Yugong Yishan. Additional proceeds will go towards the China Mangrove Action Project in Guangdong Province, an education and research center dedicated to wetland restoration. Minimum bids for the limited edition, signed and framed prints, will start at 800 RM.
The auction will take place at the Hutong in Beijing, China, starting at 10:00 PM, on December 10th, 2010. The event is by RSVP only. Please email email@example.com for a reservation, and visit the event page for more information.
