Pulitzer Center grantee Marcio Pimenta will visit Swarthmore College on Thursday, February 20, 2020, to present his recent reporting on climate change.
During his lecture, Pimenta will discuss "Stress Nexus," his recent documentary and artistic exploration. The film studies our civilization during times of climate change.
The Pulitzer Center has previously supported Pimenta's work in the Brazilian and Peruvian Amazon. His projects have focused on activism by Indigenous people in the Amazon and the fire outbreaks of 2019.
Pimenta is a freelance photojournalist based in Brazil. His photographs have appeared in National Geographic, Rolling Stone, The Guardian, and El País, among other outlets.
Holly Piepenburg, Pulitzer Center outreach coordinator, joins Pimenta for the visit.
