Film screening and discussion with reporter Mvemba Phezo Dizolele

Mvemba Phezo Dizolele traveled through his native Congo in June and July on a grant from the Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting to cover one of the most under-reported conflicts in the world today.
SIPA students Jeca Taudte and Cary McClelland joined Mvemba to produce a short film on the links between coltan and conflict in the DRC. The resulting video, "Congo's Bloody Coltan," aired recently on Public Television and will be screened at the talk.
In October, Mvemba returned to the DRC to serve as an elections monitor for the Carter Center.
Joined by Pulitzer Center Staff and Jeca and Cary, he will discuss the elections process, small arms trade, the tension over mineral resources and the role of the international community in the DRC today.
