On August 12, 2020, at 2:30 pm EDT, Pulitzer Center Senior Strategist Steve Sapienza will speak at the 2020 Asian American Journalism Association (AAJA) Fest.

Sapienza will participate in a virtual panel entitled "Craft Winning Pitches to Grants and Fellowships," providing insight on how to find, apply for, and win grants and fellowships, as well as how to use one to accelerate the growth of an organization or personal career.

The panel will also feature the following speakers:

  • Jin Ding, Pulitzer Center alumna and program manager for the International Women’s Media Foundation
  • Ana Arana, Director of Operations for the Fund for Investigative Journalism
  • Dustin Renwick, program officer for storytelling grants at the National Geographic Society

As the senior strategist for the Pulitzer Center, Sapienza works closely with the Center’s grantees, new media makers, and newsrooms to identify the collaborative space, digital tools, reporting strategies, and partnerships that enable storytellers to best reach their audience.

AAJA's virtual 2020 conference will provide attendees with insight on surviving and thriving in the current journalism job market, the opportunity to build meaningful connections with future employers, and lasting bonds with the AAJA network.
