Pulitzer Center grantees Beth Gardiner and Will Fitzgibbon present their reporting on public health on Wednesday, March 28, 2018, at Campus Consortium partner George Washington University Milken Institute School of Public Health.
Gardiner shares her reporting on air pollution and its health outcomes, especially in China and Poland. Fitzgibbon shares his experience reporting on the environmental impacts of mining in Africa, where Australian-owned companies are linked to hundreds of deaths.
Gardiner and Fitzgibbon are joined by Rebecca Kaplan, education specialist and Mellon/ACLS Public Fellow at the Pulitzer Center.
Introductions led by Dr. James Tielsch, professor and chair of the Department of Public Health. Following the presentations, Dr. Susan Anenberg, associate professor of Environmental and Occupational Health and director of the Global Environmental Health MPH program, moderates a discussion.
