Pulitzer Center journalist grantee Perla Trevizo speaks at the University of Arizona on Thursday, November 14, 2019, focusing on her stories documenting the effects of migration on rural schools and villages in Guatemala's Western Highlands.

Trevizo's reporting project, "A Lost Generation," is part of the Pulitzer Center's Bringing Stories Home initiative. Her reporting appeared in outlets including Plaza Publica, the Arizona Daily Star, La Estrella Tucson, NPR, and Arizona Public Media. 

Trevizo currently works for the Houston Chronicle as an environmental writer. She was a previous member of the investigative team at the Arizona Daily Star, where she reported on the border and immigration. Her work has been honored with an Edward R. Murrow award.

The Arizona Daily Star and the University of Arizona School of Journalism's Center for Border and Global Journalism are additional sponsors of the event. 

Trevizo's talk is part of a multi-day Pulitzer Center-supported visit to Tucson, where she also will visit university classes and area schools.
