Migration and Identity: The Plight of Libya's Migrant Workers

Tuesday, January 24, 2012 - 07:00pm EST (GMT -0500)

Pulitzer Center grantee William Wheeler will be at Washington University to discuss the plight of African laborers trapped in Libya after the fall of the Qaddafi regime. Wheeler, who covered the aftermath of the Libyan revolution, was among the first to report in detail the story of the guest workers, mainly from sub-Sahara Africa, who found themselves trapped between a nation that no longer wanted them and a Europe Union determined to block their attempts to migrate.
