City Colleges of Chicago welcomes longtime Pulitzer Center grantee Misha Friedman to present his photography and stories most recently featured in the Pulitzer Center e-book, "To End AIDS." Friedman speaks to students at Olive-Harvey College and Malcolm X College on Wednesday, April 5, 2017, and Harry S Truman College students on Thursday, April 6, 2017

For his Pulitzer Center-supported project, which was included in the e-book, Friedman created two photo essays—both stunning and alarming. One is on South Africans who have contracted HIV and tuberculosis, and the other on the more than 6,000 people living with HIV in the Donbass region of Ukraine.

Their way of life may differ, yet both groups share bleak futures. According to all the latest reports, South Africa is making major steps in treating and preventing HIV/AIDS. In 2016, he documented how the lives of women in South Africa have changed in the past three years.

City Colleges of Chicago, the largest community college system in Ilinois, is a campus consortium partner of the Pulitzer Center.
