'Not Your Mama's Drama' Screens at Blackstar Film Festival in Philadelphia

"Not Your Mama's Drama," a short documentary produced in collaboration with Scribe Video Center, as part of "The Pulitzer Center Lens: A Journalism Workshop for Youth on Crisis Reporting," will be featured as part of the Youth Program of the Black Star Film festival in Philly.

The screening features a mix of short narratives and documentaries that examine social justice, beauty standards, family and science fiction created by teens and young adults.

Films include: A Teen’s Dream, Change Gon’ Come, Growing Apart, Ignorance, Kadi (Lantern), Lost & Found, Not Your Mama’s Drama, Princess Kiki, Society’s Coloring Book: Conversations Around Shadeism & Colorism, The Undecided, This Is What It Feels Like, and V The Great Performer.

The BlackStar Film Festival is a celebration of cinema focused on work by and about people of African descent in a global context.
