Could Kim Jong Un and Donald Trump goad each other into a devastating confrontation? Three days after President Trump’s “locked and loaded” tweet, Osnos, a Pulitzer Center grantee flew to Pyongyang at the invitation of the North Korean government. His remarkable dispatch for The New Yorker offers a rare, inside glimpse of how the Hermit Kingdom sees the outside world and, in particular, Donald Trump.
Osnos, a staff writer at the magazine, is also a fellow at the Brookings Institution and the author of “Age of Ambition: Chasing Fortune, Trust, and Faith in the New China.”
Litwak is director of international security studies at the Wilson Center. He is an expert in the fields of nuclear proliferation/non-proliferation, security and defense, and foreign policy.
Moon is the Edith Stix Wasserman professor of Asian studies at Wellesley College and non-resident fellow at the Brookings Institution. She is an expert on the U.S.-Korea alliance and comparative social movements in East Asia.
Rohlfing, who has held senior positions with the U.S. Department of Energy as director of the Office of Nonproliferation and National Security, is part of the original team that created NTI’s mission and scope. NTI is a donor to the Pulitzer Center for reporting and educational outreach on emerging nuclear threats.
