Join us on Tuesday, October 21, for Talks @ Pulitzer conversation with Pulitzer Center grantee Yochi Dreazen as he discusses his latest book, "The Invisible Front: Love and Loss in an Era of Endless War". Book signings will follow the talk.
The Invisible Front, published by Random House, is the sensitively reported story of a military family's decision to channel their grief of losing two sons into focusing on the armed forces' suicide epidemic and making PTSD and mental illness more visible in the military. It offers a new way of understanding the human cost of war and its lingering effects far away from the battlefield.
The Military Times called "The Invisible Front" an "enthralling and enraging report about the Army’s traditional stigma about mental illness." NPR's Diane Rehm interviewed Dreazen shortly after the October 2014 publication of the book, chosen by Amazon editors as October's Book of the Month. Dreazen's initial reporting for the book also made him a J. Anthony Lukas Work-in-Progress Award Finalist.

Dreazen is the managing editor of Foreign Policy, and has covered the Iraq and Afghanistan wars for The Wall Street Journal and reported from more than 30 countries. His writing has appeared in The Atlantic and The Washington Post, among others. Dreazen's Pulitzer Center-supported projects have examined conflict zones from nuclear threats and weaponized drones in the Middle East to in terrorism in West Africa.
