Join Pulitzer Center Executive Director Jon Sawyer and award-winning journalist Cynthia Gorney at High Point University as they focus on the harmful practice of child marriage around the world. The event revolves around the in-depth reporting by Gorney and photographer Stephanie Sinclair for National Geographic, VII photo agency and the Pulitzer Center.
Sinclair's extraordinary photographs on this topic will be showcased. Her multimedia story, sponsored by the Pulitzer Center in association with National Geographic and VII photo agency, won second place in the 2012 Pictures of the Year International's photojournalism competition. Her photographs were recently honored by the 2012 World Press Photo contest with a first place prize in the contemporary issues category.
This discussion is a part of a series of events and meetings with faculty and students on the campuses of High Point University, Guilford College and Wake Forest University, all members of the Pulitzer Center's Campus Consortium network.
