"Ukrainian Dream," an exhibition of photography by Misha Friedman, is on display March 26 to April 1, 2016, at Kiev's Cinema House as part of the Docudays UA International Human Rights Documentary Film Festival.

Following the opening ceremony on March 26, Friedman and police lieutenant Tetiana Koretska participate in a discussion on the role of women in the New Ukrainian police force.

"Ukrainian Dream" offers the audience a chance to examine the symbol of Ukrainian reforms, the new police force, from a "refreshing perspective," the Docudays UA website says. "What is prevailing in the reform of the Ukrainian police, the dream or the result? And what is the role of women in this ‘gleaming pocket calendar’, after all? Are they just another surface for the projections of the patriarchal society, or are they active agents of change in a society moving towards democracy and equal rights?"

"Ukranian Dream" includes work from Friedman's Pulitzer Center-supported reporting project, "Ukraine: Reforming a Police Force." His other Pulitzer Center-supported projects include work documenting homophobia in Ukraine, heroin abuse and HIV/AIDS in Russia, and the impact of Russia's military annexation of the Crimean Peninsula from Ukraine on individuals within the LGBT community in the region.

The Docudays on Human Rights festival was held for the first time in 2003. Most of the documentaries and feature films at that time were Ukrainian premieres. Screenings occurred in the capital as well as in other regions of Ukraine..
