Join the Pulitzer Center for a discussion on the Karabakh crisis, the recent conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan, and what comes next for the region on Tuesday, December 22, at 12:00pm EST

Pulitzer Center Executive Director Jon Sawyer will be in conversation with Simon Ostrovsky, a grantee and special correspondent for PBS NewsHour who has been covering the issue since fighting broke out in late September.

Ostrovsky is a documentary filmmaker and investigative journalist with an extensive background reporting on former Soviet countries. Earlier this year, he covered the election in Belarus and the subsequent protests and civil unrest.

Ostrovsky’s coverage of the 2014 Crimea crisis and the war in eastern Ukraine for VICE News earned him two Emmy nods and the prestigious DuPont Award from Columbia University. He has also covered the Iraq War, Syria, the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, and North Korea’s economic activity beyond its borders.
