Camilo Jiménez Santofimio

Colombian journalist, editor, and project manager with fifteen years experience in media as well as in developing creative, advocacy-driven initiatives, as well as transmedia content and reporting projects. Between 2018 and 2020, he was the executive editor and publisher of Arcadia, Grupo Semana’s platform for culture, arts and ideas. He has also worked as Head of Content at the Colombian office of  Vice Media; as a correspondent, national reporter and editor of special reports for the Colombian newsweekly Semana; as a junior editor and reporter in the German daily newspaper Süddeutsche Zeitung; and as a freelance correspondent for Die Zeit. He has created or managed projects like the voting advice app Candidater, the digital reporting platform for the Colombian peace process Pacifista, the digital project for civil society Divergentes as well as the innovation strategy for Arcadia. After obtaining his degree in Philosophy and History (M.A.) in Berlin, he was a reporting and editing trainee in Munich’s Süddeutscher Verlag. He worked as a lecturer at the Universidad de Los Andes and the Universidad del Rosario. He is also a member of the steering committee of the Colombian Foundation for Press Freedom (FLIP), the editorial board of the League Against Silence, and the advisory board of the Pulitzer Center’s Amazon Rainforest Journalism Fund.

Periodista, editor y gestor de proyectos editoriales con quince años de experiencia en medios de comunicación y en el desarrollo de iniciativas creativas en el campo periodístico y social, así como de estrategias de contenidos transmedia. Entre 2018 y 2020 fue director y publisher de Arcadia, la plataforma cultural y creativa del Grupo Semana. También ha sido director de contenidos de Vice Media en Colombia; corresponsal, reportero y editor de la revista Semana; editor y reportero del diario alemán Süddeutsche Zeitung; y corresponsal del semanario Die Zeit. Ha creado o dirigido proyectos como la app de orientación electoral Candidater, la plataforma para el proceso de paz ¡Pacifista!, el proyecto digital para la sociedad civil Divergentes y la estrategia de innovación de Arcadia. Tras recibir su grado de Filosofía e Historia (M.A.) en Berlín, fue becario de la licenciatura de reportería y edición del Süddeutscher Verlag de Múnich, con énfasis en investigación. Ha sido docente de la Universidad de Los Andes y la Universidad del Rosario. También es miembro del comité director de la Fundación para la Libertad de Prensa, del consejo editorial de la Liga Contra el Silencio y del comité asesor del Amazon Rainforest Journalism Fund del Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting.
