Edith Ismene Nicolaou-Griffin is a rising sophomore at Davidson College, in North Carolina, a prospective neuroscience major and film and media studies concentrator.

Her interest in journalism began at age 14 after taking a summer journalism course at Brenau College in Gainesville, Georgia, which led to an article published in the town’s local newspaper: The Gainesville Times. Edith worked for her high school’s newspaper and literary magazine and is now the webmaster for The Davidsonian, the college’s student newspaper. As a longtime Amnesty International volunteer, Edith is also engaged in human rights and development issues, particularly concerning youth.

Although born in Gainesville, Edith was raised in Athens, Greece where she traveled this summer, with the help of the Davidson Dean Rusk International Studies program and the Pulitzer Center, to document youth narratives of the Greek debt crisis. Davidson College is a member of the Pulitzer Center's Campus Consortium.
