Health Projects Coordinator

Emily Baumgaertner is the former global health projects and partnerships coordinator at the Pulitzer Center. Prior to joining the Pulitzer Center, Emily earned her Master of Public Health degree in global health metrics at The George Washington University. Her areas of focus are communicable disease outbreak and humanitarian crisis. Emily’s volunteer work in a Transylvanian orphanage sparked her interest in international health reporting. After completing her undergraduate studies, Emily travelled through central and western Madagascar to investigate the integration of allopathic and traditional medical systems. She hopes to pursue opportunities to report on the effects of political conflict and natural disasters on health.
