Ingrid Olivia Norrmén-Smith is a researcher, writer, and filmmaker whose work engages with health, wellbeing, technology, ethea, and the psyche. Her background is interdisciplinary. Over the last decade, she’s approached the human experience from multiple spheres and through different lenses: the neurobiological, the anthropological, the sociopolitical, the artistic. Olivia uses various media—notably film—to tell stories that investigate barriers to resources and systemic-level crises, examine divergent ways of understanding and experiencing, celebrate the search for meaning, and highlight both the miraculous and banal idiosyncratic follies of human life.

Olivia is currently a graduate student in the Division of Social and Transcultural Psychiatry at McGill University, an alumnus of the Salt Institute for Documentary Studies, and a Thomas J. Watson Fellow.
