Jack Merlin Watling

Jack Watling is a freelance reporter and analyst, focused on civil conflict. He has reported on Mali, Yemen, Iraq, Rwanda, and further afield for Reuters, Foreign Policy, The Guardian, The Atlantic, VICE News, IHS Jane's Intelligence Review, Haaretz, and other publications. For two years, he was Planning Editor at NewsFixed, coordinating a network of 700 reporters across the Middle East and Africa. Jack is currently undertaking a Ph.D at Birkbeck, University of London, examining the history of British policy in response to civil war.
