Jill Langlois

Jill Langlois is an independent journalist based in São Paulo, Brazil, where she is the special correspondent for the Los Angeles Times. She has been freelancing from the largest city in the western hemisphere since 2010, writing and reporting for publications like The New York Times, the Associated Press, Fortune, Foreign Policy and Americas Quarterly. Her work focuses on politics, human rights, social justice and the impact of socioeconomic issues on people’s lives.

Jill is fluent in French and Portuguese. She holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Ryerson University in Toronto. When she’s not reporting, you can find her exploring hidden corners of Brazil with her husband.
