Malia Politzer is an award-winning journalist based out of Europe. She recently completed a two-year writing fellowship with the Institute of Current World Affairs in India and Spain, where she wrote about Europe's economic recession, the refugee crisis, immigration, identity issues, and religious tensions in both Europe and India. Malia has won multiple awards for her reporting and published articles in the Wall Street Journal, The Economist, Vogue, Far Eastern Economic Review, Foreign Policy Magazine, Reason Magazine, and Migration Policy Institute’s monthly magazine The Source, and is a regular contributor to Devex. She has reported from Spain, India, China, Mexico and South Korea, and speaks fluent Spanish, conversational Mandarin, and basic Hindi and French. Malia holds an M.S. in multimedia and investigative journalism from Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism, where she was a Stabile Fellow, and a B.A. in Liberal Arts from Hampshire College. She is in the process of getting her doctorate in Immigration Studies at the University of Granada in Spain.
