Matthew Komatsu

Matthew Komatsu is a writer whose essays, reviews, and longform have appeared in The New York Times, VICE: Motherboard, Foreign Policy, and numerous literary journals. He was recently anthologized in The Kiss: Intimacies from Writers (Norton, 2018) and was a recipient of the 2017 Alaska Literary Award for Nonfiction. He holds a MFA in Creative Writing from the University of Alaska. As a currently serving veteran, his writing does not represent official policy or position.
