Michelle Goldberg is a senior contributing writer at The Nation. She is the author of two books: “Kingdom Coming: The Rise of Christian Nationalism,” a New York Times bestseller about religious fundamentalism in American politics, and “The Means of Reproduction: Sex, Power and the Future of the World," about the global battle over reproductive rights. Her first book was a finalist for the New York Public Library Helen Bernstein Award for Excellence in Journalism, and her second won the 2008 J. Anthony Lukas Work-in-Progress Award and the Ernesta Drinker Ballard Book Prize. Prior to joining The Nation, Goldberg was a senior writer for Newsweek/The Daily Beast, where she was a finalist for the 2012 Digital Ellie for Commentary. Her work has appeared in many newspapers and magazines, including The New Republic, Rolling Stone, New York, Glamour, The Guardian and Salon. Her next book, about the yoga evangelist Indra Devi and the West's long love affair with the mystic East, will be published by Knopf next year.
