Muriel Alarcon

Muriel Alarcon is a Chilean journalist with a Master of Arts degree in Science and Health Journalism at Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism. Before moving to New York, she worked for magazines that belong to El Mercurio, one of the major Chilean newspapers. She was a staff member at Revista YA, El Mercurio’s women magazine, and also wrote travel stories for Domingo magazine and human-interest profiles for Sábado magazine. She worked at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile’s journalism school as a research assistant and as a Professor of the Writing Workshop, the foundational journalism course on story structure.
