Lungs of the Earth is a multimedia, data journalism project that focuses on the Congo Basin. It includes stories and dataviz around the state of the forests in the region. Main data sources will include FAO, Global Forest Watch (WRI), Global Fire Data, Cifor and Rainforest Alliance. Stories will include reportage from the national parks in DRC, combined with the testimony of researchers and scientists who will help understand the impact of deforestation on biodiversity, climate, and health in the region.
