For-Profit Policing in Kentucky

In 2016, law enforcement in Kentucky seized nearly $3 million in cash, cars and other property. They took it before anyone was proven to commit a crime, and in some cases, they kept it even after acquittal.

Why? Because Kentucky makes it easier for police to seize your property than it does to get it back.
