Neither the school nor the students are ordinary—both have a story of their own. Based on a non-authoritarian learning model, the school is more than just a place to learn. It has emerged as an eco-friendly institution where students from small rural villages have found hope.
For the rest of the India, Ladakh is a beautiful tourist destination. But there are limited educational opportunities for the youth. Struggle and the pressure to follow the herd is a common experience. A group of young Ladakhis shared a vision to change it. The result was a school with no exams and no principal—and a successful education model.
