The Fight for Labor Rights in Colombia

Omar Serrano, the president of the Colombian sugarcane cutters, has high hopes that the fight for worker's rights will reverberate throughout Colombia. The workers in El Cerrito are just struggling to survive—living off beans, coffee and bread. With little help from the outside world they sometimes have to resort to eating worms and drinking water from a creek that runs through the crops.
