Edge of Joy screening

In the U.S. 1 in 4,800 women die in childbirth. In Nigeria it is 1 in 48. In the one-hour character-driven documentary, The Edge of Joy, filmmaker Dawn Sinclair Shapiro closely follows an ensemble cast of Nigerian doctors, nurses, midwives and religious leaders as they battle the second largest maternal mortality rate in the world.

This screening is part of the Women Deliver Conference's Cinema Corner at the Washington Convention Center at 801 Mount Vernon Place NW, Washington, DC 20001-3614. The screening will take place Wednesday, June 9 at 3pm in Room 101. Filmmaker Dawn Sinclair will be in attendance.
