Filmmaker and Pulitzer Center grantee Carl Gierstorfer spent several months in Liberia during the height of the country's Ebola outbreak. His film "We Want You to Live: Liberia's Fight Against Ebola" documents one community's fight for survival and reconciliation in the face of the disease that infected more than 28,000 people and took more than 11,000 lives.
The interactive web documentary, "Mawah - When Ebola Came to Our Village" accompanies the documentary. It tells the story of Mawah, a village of about 800 people in Central Liberia, and how the close knit community changed after Ebola.
The documentary has been nominated for the 20th Annual Webby Awards for Best Science Website, as well as the Webby People's Voice Award.
