May 3 is World Press Freedom Day, and this year's theme is Keeping Power in Check: Media, Justice, and the Rule of Law. Share the importance of a free press and an engaged public with your students with these five multimedia stories highlighting the responsibility and the hazards of being a journalist. Each story is accompanied with a lesson plan to guide critical discussion and allow students to assume the role of a journalist, stretching their analytical skills and exercising empathy.
