Pulitzer Center Executive Editor Indira Lakshmanan will moderate a public service journalism panel about the effects of climate change on Florida's coastline on November 7, 2019, at the Centre Club Tampa. The sold-out event hosted by the Athena Society will discuss how newsrooms across Florida are covering climate effects such as sea level rise, coastal flooding, and increasing temperatures.

The panel discussion is part of the Pulitzer Center's Connected Coastline initiative, which funds newsrooms and independent journalists across the nation to report on the local effects of climate change on U.S. coastal populations. The Pulitzer Center funded projects from the Tampa Bay Times and The Miami Herald as part of this special reporting initiative.

Panelists include Tampa Bay Times executive editor Mark Katches, Tampa Bay Times business editor Bill Varian, and Miami Herald editor and publisher Mindy Marqués González.
