On Monday, February 26, 2018, Pulitzer Center grantee Nick Schifrin speaks at the University of Chicago Institute of Politics on his project, Inside Russia, a PBS NewsHour series. Schifrin, along with fellow grantee Zach Fannin, spent weeks in Russia examining everything from the bilateral relationship with the United States to ascendant nationalism, widespread propaganda, and the fate of the President Vladimir Putin’s enemies.
Schifrin shares segments of the series and takes questions about his project and career.
Schifrin is an award-winning journalist and currently a special correspondent at PBS NewsHour. Prior to NewsHour, Schifrin worked as a Middle East Correspondent for Al Jazeera America and as a correspondent for ABC News in London, New Delhi, Afghanistan and Pakistan. He has reported in more than 25 countries since 2007 and was one of the first journalists to report from Osama bin Laden’s compound in 2011. His coverage there earned him an Edward R. Murrow Award.
