On Monday, October 16, 2017, Pulitzer Center Senior Advisor Marvin Kalb hosts the most recent installment of his show, The Kalb Report, at the National Press Club in Washington, DC

For this edition, Kalb has invited New York Times Executive Editor Dean Baquet and Washington Post Executive Editor Marty Baron to discuss the Trump administration's relationship with media. While outlets like the Times and the Post have endured increased pressure from the President, their digital subscription rates have reached an all-time high. Kalb, Baron, and Baquet will discuss the current administration's goals and the motivation behind its attacks on media outlets, as well as how the journalistic community should respond to increased scrutiny.

The Kalb Report, now in its 24th season, broaches difficult questions surrounding the role of the press through panel discussions and interviews. The program is jointly produced by the National Press Club Journalism Institute, George Washington University, Shorenstein Center on Media, Politics, and Public Policy at Harvard University, University of Maryland University College (UMUC), and the Philip Merrill College of Journalism at the University of Maryland.

The show is recorded in front of a live audience. The taping begins at 8:00 pm, but guests are advised to arrive by 7:30 pm and must be seated by 7:40 pm.

Admission is free and open to the public, but space is limited. You can reserve your tickets online here. Tickets are also avalable at the National Press Club front desk.
