Join Pulitzer Center grantee filmmaker Fiona Lloyd-Davies at the London School of Economics and Political Science's Centre for Women, Peace and Security on Tuesday, June 6, 2017, for a screening of Under the Shadow. The film stems from her Pulitzer Center-supported reporting project, Congo: Consequences of a Conflict with No End.

In Lloyd-Davies' latest installment, an update from her companion film Seeds of Hope, she follows Masika Katsuva in her quest to restore the lives of thousands of rape survivors in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). The film also examines how politics, corruption and impunity are affecting the lives of the women, men, and children there.

This 60-minute documentary focuses on Katsuva and other survivors. Lloyd-Davies writes in a blog post, surprisingly enough, that the work depicts how many women keep pushing through life despite what they have had to overcome so far. There will also be a Q&A with Lloyd-Davies at the end of the film.
