Donate NowThe Institute for International Journalism in the Scripps College of Communication, in conjunction with The Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting in Washington, D.C. has organized a campus visit by independent roving journalist, Jason Motlagh. Jason will be there from Monday March 2 until Wednesday March 4, 2009.
He will share his experiences in reporting international conflicts. He will give lectures on Tuesday and provide students interested in international journalism/affairs with fresh information on global issues such as conflicts and the current social and political situations in countries he has covered.
Jason will speak to the university community in Anderson Auditorium located in Scripps Hall, room 111 at 5pm. He will also hold one-on-one talks with a few students in Scripps 205 and in Sing Tao 104. Wed at 6:30pm – Dinner with international journalism faculty.
Tue at 9:30am - Video-tape interview with two international journalism students. Interview will be taped in the WOUB Studios at RTV Building and will be posted on the school and the IIJ websites.
Tue, 10:15 to 12pm - One-on-one meetings with international journalism students, Meeting in Prof. Kalyango's office, Scripps Hall 205
Tue, 12 to 1:30pm - Lunch (with some college faculty)
Tue, 1 to 1:50pm - Meet graduate journalism students (Q&A session), in Sing Tao 104
Tue, 3pm to 5pm - Lecture in Foreign Correspondence class; Scripps 112. (Crisis Reporting; and what it takes to become an independent international correspondent)
