University of San Diego: Seeds of Hope Screening and Panel Discussion

Tuesday, February 18, 2014 - 06:30pm to 09:00pm EST (GMT -0500)

Join us on Tuesday, February 18, for a screening of "Seeds of Hope," Fiona Lloyd-Davies’ heart-wrenching film focused on one woman’s fight for the rape victims of eastern Congo. A panel discussion follows the film to explore other signs of hope in one of the world’s most troubled regions—among them a strengthened UN commitment to the protection of civilians and the stories of individual Congolese who are making their country a better place.

Panelists include from the Pulitzer Center, Executive Director Jon Sawyer and Contributing Editor Kem Knapp Sawyer, and from the Global Fund for Women, Muadi Mukenge, program director for Sub-Saharan Africa. This program is presented by the Pulitzer Center and its Campus Consortium partner, the University of San Diego Joan B. Kroc School of Peace Studies.
